ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — Rochester Police officers teamed up with activists and a local gym to spread some holiday cheer on Monday.

The group “SAVE ROCHESTER- Black Lives Matter” got a helping hand from the RPD and Exercise Express for some toy deliveries.

The groups met at the Danforth Community Center to sort through gift donations.

Those presents were then packed into patrol cars and delivered directly to families in the city and after a difficult year of community relations, Rochester Police are excited to help bring some holiday cheer to the people they serve.

"We all live here, we’re all members of the Rochester-Monroe County community right?” said Lt. Greg Bello. “This is all one big community, one big family here. So whatever we can do to bridge those gaps and bring this community back together, we are thrilled and super happy to be doing it."

Altogether the groups were able to deliver nearly 100 gifts.
