Rochester Regional, Healthy Moms Program host back-to-school giveaway

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — Rochester Regional Health and the Healthy Moms Program hosted a back-to-school giveaway Friday.

Backpacks filled with school supplies were given out to children, along with gently used clothing.

There was also a family resource fair to help parents get a better understanding of the school year ahead.

A bunch of community partners were there, including the Unity Dental Group, the Rochester Public Library and the Rochester Fire Department.

"St. Mary’s Campus is near and dear to my heart and it’s like this community around here we really just want to support this community and that’s why we decided this would be a great event to bring the community together in one location," Maryann Brady said.

Healthy Moms has received a lot of donations and it’s been hard to get them out into the community because of COVID-19.

They say this was a great opportunity to distribute those donated items.
