ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) – Uniting and Healing through Hope of Monroe County will be joined by the Rochester Red Wings and Rochester Amerks to host a food drive on Friday and Saturday at Frontier Field. A partnership between the Red Wings, Amerks, and First Student will be announced as well.
Uniting Through Hope will be hosting a food drive at Frontier Field to benefit the families of the victims of the shooting in Buffalo. They will be collecting non-perishable food donations at the ballpark. The organization is looking for any kind of non-perishable food items.
The Red Wings and Amerks organizations are teaming up to coordinate the local donation effort and ask the community to support our neighbors in Buffalo who have been tragically impacted.
Fans and residents are encouraged to donate unopened, non-perishable food items by dropping them off at the First Student school bus located at the main entry to Frontier Field.
In addition to food items (especially in need of canned proteins and peanut butter), fans and members of the community can donate items such as reusable grocery bags, freezer bags, toothpaste, toothbrush, shampoo, diapers, detergent, and other personal care products.
Donations will be accepted 5:00-7:30 p.m. at the following games:
• Red Wings vs. Buffalo Bisons, Friday, June 3, game @7:05 p.m.
• Red Wings vs. Buffalo Bisons, Saturday, June 4, game @ 7:05 p.m.
