Rochester’s gas prices fell from last week but remain higher than a month ago
ROCHESTER N.Y. (WHEC) – Average gas prices in Rochester have fallen from last week but remain $0.65 per gallon higher than a month ago. Gas prices fell by 4.5 cents, averaging at $4.37 per gallon, based on GasBuddy’s survey released on Monday of 319 Rochester area stations.
The cheapest gas price recorded in Rochester this week was $3.59 per gallon on Sunday, while the most expensive was more than $1 per gallon higher. Gas prices were cheaper in Buffalo, Syracuse, and New York City.
Rochester still has higher average gas prices than the national average. Nationally, averages were 9 cents lower than the previous week, ending at $4.23 per gallon.
Compared to a year ago, gas prices in Rochester have risen by $1.51 and prices nationally have risen by $1.37.
