RPD: 14-year old killed in first homicide of 2022

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — A 14-year-old is the victim of Rochester’s first homicide of 2022.
Julius Greer Jr. was found inside a store Sunday around 6 p.m. with at least one gunshot wound to the back.
RPD says Greer lived in the neighborhood and was sent to the store to buy food when the shooting occured. It appears Greer was shot just prior to entering the store. Right now, investigators are trying to find a motive, or if Greer was the intended target. An unoccupied car nearby that was also struck by bullets.
The Rochester City School District confirms Greer was a student and that a grief team will be available for students and staff. Our Berkeley Brean spoke with Greer’s father who says his son was a 9th grader at Leadership Academy.
