RPD: Fight breaks out, man tries to free arrestee from police car

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — A fight broke out in the area of East and Alexander on Sunday, leading to multiple arrests.
According to police, at approximately 1:45 a.m. officers working in the bar district were alerted of a fight involving a male with a gun in the 300 block of Alexander Street.
Police were able to locate the male in a rear parking lot and detain him, despite his resistance. During the arrest, he was found to be illegally possessing a loaded Ruger 9mm handgun.
Kameron Lewis, 28, is charged with criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree, a class C felony, resisting arrest, a class A misdemeanor, and disorderly conduct.
During this arrest, another 28-year-old interfered by pushing officers, attempting to free Lewis from inside the police car. That did not work. He was arrested and given an appearance ticket for obstruction of governmental administration in the second degree.
Lewis was arrested and transported to the Monroe County Jail.
