RPD investigating Hudson Avenue shooting and car crash

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — A Rochester man was shot on Hudson Avenue Monday afternoon.
Around 3:10 p.m. officers responded to the 1100 block of Hudson Avenue for the report of an accident and a possible person shot.
When they arrived, a 30-year-old man was suffering from at least one gunshot wound. He was transported to a local hospital and is currently in critical but stable condition.
While investigating the incident and securing the scene, Officers were alerted to a nearby apartment with a man inside that may have somehow been involved.
Officers surrounded the apartment, eventually making contact with the potential suspect and successfully removed him from the apartment.
This male, a 37-year-old Rochester resident, was found with a lower-body injury possibly as a result of the accident.
At this time, police believe the accident and shooting are related—however, the incident is still under investigation while police continue to recover evidence and interview witnesses.
