RPD: Man hits a car with 2-year-old inside, charged with DWI, more

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — A 36-year-old Rochester man was charged with driving while intoxicated after he hit a car stopped at a red light with a 2-year-old child in it.
According to RPD, it happened at the intersection of North Clinton Avenue and Avenue D. Police say just before 11 p.m.
Police say a 2000 Honda with a 2-year-old passenger inside was stopped at a red light on Avenue D at North Clinton Avenue facing east when a 2006 Mazda that was headed east on Avenue D hit it from behind.
The child was taken to RGH and treated for non-life-threatening injuries, according to RPD.
The 36-year-old driver of the Mazda was taken to Strong Hospital by ambulance for a complaint of pain in his lower body.
Police say the driver has been charged with driving while intoxicated and first degree aggravated unlicensed operator and was issued vehicle and traffic tickets.
