ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — A Rochester Police Officer is injured after taking a knifepoint robbery suspect into custody Tuesday night.

Police say the robbery was reported a little after 8 p.m., and when officers got to the scene on the 500 block of Portland Avenue, they interviewed a convenience store employee who was robbed at knifepoint.

Shortly after, police say they found one of the suspects, a 26-year-old Rochester man, and took him into custody after “a brief use of force”.

Police say an officer’s hand was injured during the struggle.
