RPD: Parked patrol car hit by unlicensed driver on S Goodman Street
ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — A woman was ticketed Thursday night after police say she hit a marked Rochester Police Department patrol car that was parked on South Goodman Street.
Police say at around 6 p.m. an officer was investigating a disturbance call near Harlem Street, which is just one block south of Park Avenue, and the patrol car’s lights were on.
The woman sideswiped the police car, damaging its side-view mirror, police say.
The 40-year-old does not have a license according to police, and while the officer was issuing her a ticket, she had a medical event. She was taken to the hospital.
Town of Greece Police were on the other side of the street from the incident, but Rochester police say their investigation was not related to the crash.
News10NBC has reached out to Greece Police asking why they were on scene. They sent the following response: "The Greece Police Department was in the area investigating an unrelated matter which is still under investigation."
