RPD: Shots fired into 2 homes, 1 hitting mattress as 14-year-old slept

ROCHESTER N.Y. (WHEC) – Rochester Police said there were shots fired into two houses Friday morning. One bullet hit an air mattress that a 14-year-old was sleeping on.

No one was injured in either case and police reported that the two incidents were unrelated.

RPD got a call for gunshots fired on Maria Street around 5 a.m. and found that a house had been hit with several bullets. The house had five people inside, including the 14-year-old whose mattress deflated once the bullet hit.

At 6 a.m., police also responded to shots fired at a home with occupants inside on the 300 block of Augustine Street.

No suspects are in custody. There are ongoing investigations and anyone with information is asked to call 911.
