ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — More than 250 Santa Clauses took over the streets of Rochester Sunday morning for Santa Stampede.

The new holiday tradition, started in 2019 by Fleet Feet, consists of a three-mile run and walk where everyone dresses as Santa Claus.

According to event organizers, the event was sold out. The event benefits the Bivona Child Advocacy Center.

Participants were encouraged to bring new, unwrapped fleece blankets for donation to the center.
