ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — A second alarm was called for a fire in an apartment building on Mt. Hope Avenue Friday night.
Rochester firefighters say a kitchen fire sounded the alarm.
They arrived at the scene and found heavy smoke on the sixth floor and there was a person harbored in place on the seventh floor.
Everyone got out safely and the fire was put out quickly.
The department says the second alarm was called due to the size of the building.
