SEIU workers at U of R, Strong Hospital, reach tentative agreement

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — The unions representing local hospital workers have reached a tentative two-year agreement with the University of Rochester and Strong Memorial Hospital.

Workers with 1199 SEIU and SEIU Local 200United planned to picket next week, after working without a contract.

They also told News10NBC they hadn’t had a wage increase since 2019.

Now the picket is canceled.

Union members will be given a chance to review the details of the agreement, and a vote will be held next Friday.

Details of the agreement will not be made public until then.
