Small Business Council of Rochester holding ‘Purse Party Pop Up’ for Women’s History Month

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — The Small Business Council of Rochester is organizing an initiative called "Purse Party Pop Up" as part of Women’s History Month.

It’s inviting people to donate new and gently used purses and personal care items.

There are three drop-off locations collecting items starting next Monday, March 28 through Wednesday, March 30.

Everything will go to women living at homeless shelters around Rochester.

The following items are being accepted:

  • Gently used purses
  • Toothbrushes/toothpaste
  • Lip balm
  • Bandages
  • Deodorant
  • Combs/brushes
  • Bar and travel-sized soap
  • Lotion
  • Nail clippers
  • Feminine hygiene products (must be individually packaged)

The drop off sites are below:

  • Mason Marketing at 400 Whitney Rd. in Penfield.
  • ComTec Solutions at 65 Elmgrove Pk. in Rochester.
  • Howard Hanna at 217 W. Main St.in Rochester.

Then, there will be a purse-packing party at Rohrbach Brewing Co. at 97 Railroad St. on Thursday, March 31 from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.
