ALBANY, N.Y. (WHEC) — After a special session on Wednesday in Albany, two lawmakers have tested positive for the coronavirus.
Assembly Speaker Carl Heastie says Assemblymembers Charles Fall and Inez Dickens have tested positive for COVID-19. Both were vaccinated and are now quarantining.
"I send Charles and Inez well wishes, and hope they have a full and speedy recovery," said Heastie. "This is a terrible reminder that we are not yet out of the woods of this pandemic. I encourage everyone to stay vigilant and careful to protect yourself and those around you."
The assembly is reaching out to other members and staff who may have been in contact with them. Anyone that has is encouraged to quarantine until they can get a COVID test.
