SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WHEC) — This year’s longer New York State Fair means a greater need for workers. Organizers are now offering a higher wage to help fill those empty positions.
According to our Syracuse affiliates, fair director Troy Waffner says they’re looking to hire 2,300 employees.
The fair plans to pay higher wages to those future staff members, more than $15 per hour in some cases. Employees who work all 18 days can also get a bonus.
Waffner mentioned that some departments are fully staffed right now, but they’re still looking for janitorial staff, parking, grounds cleaning, guest relations, and security to hire for the fair this year.
He says that they’ll need to get at least 2,000 people hired.
