NEW YORK, N.Y. (WHEC) — New York State landmarks will be lit in red, white, and blue Monday night in observance of Memorial Day.

Governor Kathy Hochul was in New York City on Monday to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the formal end of recovery operations at Ground Zero.

"By our strength and determination to bring this city back, we demonstrated no, they did not win. We won and we’ll continue to win the fight against terrorism, whether it’s domestic or foreign terrorism. That is our message here today," said Hochul.

Hochul says she is proud of New York and that the state will bounce back after the Coronavirus pandemic because New Yorkers showed that it could be done 20 years ago.
