Steuben County woman accused of welfare fraud, facing grand larceny charges

CAMPBELL, N.Y. (WHEC) — A Steuben County woman is accused of receiving more than $3,000 in benefits through welfare fraud.

The Steuben County Sheriff’s Office says Courtney B. Roche, 31, of Campell used a false instrument for filing from April of 2020 through August of 2020 to receive $3,392 from the Steuben County Department of Social Services she wasn’t eligible for.

On Friday, Roche was charged with first degree offering a false instrument for filing and third degree grand larceny, both felonies.
