Stray bullet hits home following New Year’s Eve altercation in Rochester

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — Rochester Police say no one was hurt after a bullet hit a home following an altercation during a New Year’s Eve party early Saturday morning.
Police responded to North Clinton Avenue near Geneva Street to multiple 911 calls reporting shots fired.
Police say their early investigation found that some type of altercation occurred in a parking lot outside of a New Year’s Eve party. The altercation was followed by a series of gunshots.
No one was injuried. Police say a nearby house, occupied by residents and unrelated to the party, was struck by gunfire. At least one bullet entered the living room of the location from an exterior wall and caused damage within.
The investigation is ongoing. No one is in custody. Anyone with information is asked to please call 911.
