Syracuse Athletics updates COVID-19 protocols

SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WHEC) — Syracuse Athletics Tuesday updated its game day COVID-19 protocols ahead of the season’s last two football home games and basketball season.

The following changes are effective immediately:

  • Children younger than 12 no longer need to provide proof of a negative COVID-19 test.
  • Those older than 12 are required to show proof of vaccination status or a negative COVID-19 test. If they can not provide proof, they will not be allowed to enter the stadium. Over-the-counter test kit results are not accepted.
  • Masks are still required for everyone 5 and older, regardless of vaccination status, except when eating or drinking.

Fans can use the university’s pre-screening sites at the quad, the Stadium/West Lot, the Manley North and South lots or the Skytop Lot.

Once basketball season starts, there will not be pre-screening tents and fans will show proof of their vaccination status or a negative test at the Stadium entry gates. A matching photo ID will also be required and COVID-19 testing will not be available on-site.

Syracuse is accepting printed copies or digital versions of vaccine record cards as proof of vaccination or negative test results.

The university will update its website if there are changes to its COVID-19 policy, so check before you go.
