ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — Thursday will mark Gov. Kathy Hochul’s 45th day as New York’s governor, the day that she promised to have her team finalized by.
When she was first sworn in as governor, Hochul asked for 45 days to review her staffing appointments, she said anyone named within the investigation against former governor Andrew Cuomo for sexual harassment would be removed from her staff.
Republican leaders plan to gather in Albany Thursday afternoon to call on the governor to also remove any staffers involved in the Cuomo administration’s nursing home scandal from her team.
Cuomo’s administration is accused of delaying the reporting of the number of people who died of COVID-19 in nursing homes, which eventually totaled 15,000, until after his book, "American Crisis: Leadership Lessons from the COVID-19 Pandemic", which netted him $5.1 million, was released.
Cuomo is also accused of having state employees work on the book on paid time.
