Toys for Tots Holiday Drive nearing its end: How to get involved

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — Time is running out for you to be part of the News10NBC Toys for Tots Holiday Drive! Every year News10NBC teams up with the Marine Corps Reserve to make sure every child gets a little Christmas.

The last day to donate to the Toys for Tots Holiday Drive is Sunday, Dec. 19.

Donate new, unwrapped toys for kids and teens, from newborn to 17 years old. This year, there is an urgent need for toys for boys and girls 11-16 years of age, as well as dolls for girls.

There are three ways to contribute this year.

  1. Bring toys to drop-off boxes around the Rochester area. Click here to find a list of donation sites around the Greater Rochester area.
  2. Donate a toy from the comfort of your own home. Click this link, select what you’d like to purchase, and pay for it. Toys get shipped directly to the local warehouse at no extra charge.
  3. Volunteer! Learn how here.

If you donate a new, unwrapped toy worth $5 or up at the Genesee Brew House on Thursday you get a free pint of beer! It’s part of the 12 Days of Keg Tree. So come out, see the Keg Tree, donate a toy and get a free pint! It’s a win-win!

The Genesee Brew House is open until 10 p.m.

More than 71,000 toys have been donated as of 5 p.m. Thursday.
