TRAFFIC ALERT: More overnight closures expected at I-390/I-490 interchange

GATES, N.Y. (WHEC) — More overnight closures near the I-390/I-490 interchange are expected this week in the Town of Gates as construction work continues.

The New York State Department of Transportation (DOT) said southbound lanes of I-390 will be closed from Lyell Avenue to I-490 beginning at 10 p.m. Monday and Tuesday, and ending at 6 a.m. Tuesday and Wednesday.

The DOT said the ramp from eastbound Lyell Avenue to southbound I-390 will also close at 8 p.m. Monday and reopen at 6 a.m. Tuesday.

The DOT said drivers should follow detours using Lyell Avenue eastbound and Mount Read Boulevard to access I-390 south via I-490 west.

The work is weather-dependent and subject to changes according to the DOT.
