Traffic Alert: Nighttime ramp closures at I-490/I-590 interchange

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — The New York State Department of Transportation is advising motorists of anticipated ramp closures at the I-490/I-590 interchange on Wednesday and Thursday.

The I-590 southbound to I-490 eastbound ramp will be closed for guide rail work beginning at 10 p.m. on Wednesday, April 6, until 5 a.m. Thursday, April 7.

Then, the I-490 eastbound to I-590 northbound ramp will be closed for guide rail work beginning at 10 p.m. on Thursday, April 7, until 6 a.m. Friday, April 8.

Detours will be posted for both closures.

Motorists should expect to experience travel delays and may encounter intermittent lane closures as work proceeds. Drivers are reminded that fines are doubled for speeding in a work zone. In accordance with the Work Zone Safety Act of 2005, convictions of two or more speeding violations in a work zone could result in the suspension of an individual’s driver’s license.
