Troopers: 5 charged after stolen handgun found during traffic stop in Rochester

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — Five people are facing charges after New York State Police say they found a stolen handgun during a traffic stop in Rochester Tuesday.

Xavier Blanding, 30, Johnnie Herring, 43, Ashley Moore, 38, Tamika Lloyd, 36, and Starasia Odum, 18, all of Rochester, were all charged with criminal possession of a weapon and criminal possession of stolen property.

Blanding was also charged with aggravated unlicensed operation and felony driving while intoxicated, according to troopers.

Troopers say they were remanded to Monroe County Jail for arraignment Wednesday morning.

Blanding and Herring are currently under the supervision of NYS Parole according to troopers and Odum has an active arrest warrant in the Town of Greece.
