Troopers investigating fatal tractor-trailer crash in Orleans County

GAINES, N.Y. (WHEC) — New York State Police are investigating a fatal tractor-trailer crash in Orleans County.
Troopers responded to State Route 104 and Kenyonville Road in the town of Gaines Friday morning for a multiple vehicle collision involving a tractor-trailer.
Troopers say a Jeep Liberty was traveling south on Kenyonville Road when the driver failed to yield the right of way at the intersection. A Peterbilt tractor-trailer, traveling west on Route 104 struck the Jeep in the intersection. A third car attempted to avoid the collision and struck a culvert.
The driver of the Jeep, Cristal M. Nunez-Rexach, 33 of Lyndonville, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The tractor-trailer driver was transported by Mercy Flight to Strong Memorial Hospital and is expected to survive.
