Two arrested after threats against Seneca Falls firefighters

SENECA FALLS, N.Y. (WHEC) – Two men were arrested around 9:30 p.m. Wednesday after making threats to Seneca Falls Fire Department members who were attempting to respond to an outdoor fire at a home.

Seneca Falls police say Jack Harris, 25, of Weedsport threatened to cause physical harm to a firefighter who arrived at a local residence to extinguish an outdoor fire. He was charged with obstruction of governmental administration, coercion and harassment.

Wayne Purnell, 25, of Seneca Falls was charged with harassment and disorderly conduct when he shouted threats to prevent firefighters from accessing the fire.

Harris and Purnell await arraignment at the Seneca County Correctional Facility.
