ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) – RPD has identified and charged the two vehicle passengers involved in a short car pursuit that ended in a roll-over crash Wednesday afternoon.
City residents Javar Marshall, 21, and Nasir Schifano, 19, were each charged with two counts of criminal possession of a weapon. Police recovered a loaded rifle, a loaded gun and ammunition as a result of their investigation.
Around 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, New York state troopers, working with RPD, tried to stop a vehicle in the area of North Goodman Street and Central Park Avenue.
The vehicle failed to stop for police and a short car pursuit ensued. The vehicle struck a curb and flipped upside-down in the area of Bay Street and North Goodman.
Marshall and Schifano were then arrested, treated for minor injuries and transported to the Monroe County Jail without further incident.
