ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — The University of Rochester’s Class of 2025 began its move-in process on Thursday.
This is the largest incoming group of freshmen in the University of Rochester’s history, with nearly 1,500 students from 44 states and more than 50 countries. International students make up a quarter of the class and about 100 students are from the Rochester area.
The Eastman School of Music expects around 130 first-year students from 26 states and seven countries.
Earlier this month, the university reinstated indoor face-masking requirement for both vaccinated and unvaccinated individuals for all University campuses and properties. This is meant to be a temporary measure until transmission rates decline.
