ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — Community leaders from Monroe County’s political and religious communities are coming together to make sure every family has a Thanksgiving dinner.

Tuesday, Uniting and Healing Through Hope of Monroe County announced its second annual Thanksgiving food drive.

The group is accepting food donations now through Nov. 22.

They’ll also be taking cash donations until Nov. 23.

"There’s a lot of need in our community,” said organizer Clay Harris. “And we’re here to try, once again, to supply some of those needs. There’s a great need, COVID just exacerbated the need for help with some food. We want to be there to fill some of that gap."

Last year, more than 1,000 dinners were delivered to families through this campaign.

This year, they’re aiming for 1,500.

Right now, they’re working to set up distribution centers in towns and cities around the county. Once they’re set up, you can find them on the group’s website.
