ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — The University of Rochester Medical Center and Rochester General Hospital announced Friday that they are launching a clinical trial to test Pfizer/BioNTech mRNA flu vaccine, which is based on the COVID vaccine.

URMC says mRNA vaccines are much quicker to produce and are easier to tweak to target new virus strains than current flu vaccines.

URMC and RGH are looking to enroll 50 people within our community who are 65 to 85 years old.
