ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — Tuesday is National Vietnam Veterans’ Day.

The Veterans’ Outreach Center in Rochester this morning held an event to honor the men and women who served, those who’ve died, and their families.

All veterans were welcome to attend the recognition service at the association for the blind and visually impaired. Vietnam veterans received a special gift in honor of their service.

“I think that, very thankfully, because of your hard work, your advocacy for so many years the generations that followed have never had to experience that kind of hostility and trauma upon their return home,” said Laura Stradley, executive director of the Veterans Outreach Center. “So of course always, thank you so much for everything you’ve done for those who have come after you.”.

Several elected officials were also in attendance to help honor our veterans. Click here for more information about the Veterans Outreach Center.
