Victim in Watkin Terrace shooting dies

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — Rochester Police say the man who was shot Saturday afternoon near the midblock of Watkin Terrace has died.

The victim is 36-year-old Tarrell McKnight.

On Dec. 4, Rochester Police responded to the midblock of Watkin Terrace for a report of a male who had been shot. According to police, at approximately 3:30 Saturday afternoon, the first responding officer observed McKnight in the street suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

Officers immediately began life-saving measures which included applying to tourniquets and McKnight was rushed to URMC. Early Sunday morning, he succumbed to his injuries and died.

There are no suspects in custody. The Major Crimes Unit is conducting the investigation and is asking anyone with information to call police.
