ROCHESTER N.Y. (WHEC) — A Rochester man was injured but is expected to survive and two houses were struck by gunfire Thursday night.

Officers responded to the intersection of Breman and Norton streets in Rochester at around 8:30 p.m. and found a man who had been shot. He was taken to Strong Memorial Hospital and is expected to survive.

About an hour and a half before that and just a couple of blocks to the west, two houses were struck with bullets near Lang Street and Remington Street. Police responded to a ShotSpotter activation in that area, as well as several calls.

When officers got there, they found evidence that shots had been fired. Two cars were hit by bullets, but police say these were likely unintended targets. Police say no one was hit.

Anyone with information about either incident is asked to call 911.
