Webster Police wrap up investigation of forcible removal of father from school board meeting

WEBSTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — The Webster Police Department Monday announced its investigation into a security guard shown on camera forcibly removing an unmasked parent out of a Webster School Board meeting earlier this month did not find the guard’s actions rose to a misdemeanor or felony status.

The incident happened on Feb. 9 and captured quite a bit of attention on social media. The video shows an unmasked father being forcibly removed from his chair, out of the meeting, and ultimately, out of the building.

The Webster Police Department was investigating a complaint from the father about the incident.

Monday, the police department announced its investigation determined that the actions of the guard did not rise to the level of a misdemeanor or felony. The police department says it did submit paperwork to Webster Town Court for review and possible court action on behalf of the complainant for a Harassment 2nd degree, NYS Penal Law section 240.26 (1) violation.
