Weekend vigil marks 467 days since Mathew Vetromile was last seen

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — A vigil on Friday marked 467 days since Mathew Vetromile of Rush was last seen. It was also his 34th birthday.

On March 1, 2021, he vanished from a hotel in Orlando. His family and friends gathered at the Veterans Memorial Park in Henrietta to keep his story public and his mother hopes to get answers. She says Mathew suffers from some mental illnesses. She knew something was wrong when he stopped calling.

She is not giving up.

“I am not going to stop until I find Matthew or answers to what happened to him. I think even after I get answers, I’m still not going to stop until I find him, or what remains of him and bring him home,” said Carla Vetromile.

Candles were placed around a new tree planted at the park where Mathew played as a kid.
