ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) —The White House is telling states to prepare to give COVID vaccinations to young children.
According to NBC News, the feds reached out to governors on Tuesday to prepare for clearance of Pfizer’s COVID vaccine for children as young as five.
White House officials believe the age group will be able to get those shot by early next month. The Biden administration has purchased 65 million pediatric doses of the Pfizer vaccine. It’s enough to give shots to the estimated 28 million children who would be eligible if the Food and Drug Administration gives its approval.
The FDA advisory committee is scheduled to discuss doses for younger children on Oct. 26.
