PENFIELD, N.Y. (WHEC) — Rochester Rotary Sunshine Camp has provided a summer camp where kids with disabilities can have fun, without barriers, for 100 years. Wickham Farms is celebrating this milestone by commemorating the Sunshine Camp in its annual corn maze design. The farm employs over 200 team members each season.
“Creating fun experiences and developing young people into young leaders is at the core of what we aim to do on the farm. We could not be more excited to partner with Rochester Rotary Sunshine Camp for this year’s corn maze,” says farm owner Bill Wickham.
This year’s 4-acre corn maze opens just in time for Wickham Farms’ 6th annual Sunflower Spectacular, an event dedicated to “spreading the sunshine”. The farm’s 10-acre sunflower field will be in bloom from August 11 to September 5. Guests who visit the farm during Sunflower Spectacular can be amazed by 30 varieties of sunflowers, photo opportunities, fresh food and drinks, and endless fun when they explore 30 plus attractions designed to create endless fun for all guests.
Hayrides run every day during the Sunflower Spectacular to transport guests to the sunflower fields. For an additional fee, guests can cut their own flowers or choose from pre-cut flowers to take home as beautiful bouquets. Wickham Farms has expanded its cut flower offerings and will offer guests dedicated assistance in arranging and preserving their special bouquets.
