Yates County Sheriff: Man flown to hospital after being pulled from Seneca Lake

DRESDEN, N.Y. (WHEC) — A man was flown to Strong Memorial Hospital from Dresden, Yates County Sunday afternoon.
It happened at around 4 p.m.
Yates County Sheriff Ronald Spike said a 29-year-old man from out of state was swimming with others off a boat on Seneca Lake when he did not resurface on his own.
Spike said the man’s friends went underwater and found him under the boat, brought him out of the water, called 911 and went to shore where EMS and first responders took him to Mercy Flight.
The man was flown to Strong Memorial Hospital by Mercy Flight.
The Yates County Sheriff’s Office said in an update late Sunday night that his condition is still unknown and the investigation is ongoing.
