ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — Travel could be difficult in spots this evening with ongoing winter conditions. Expect slippery and icy roads with reduced visibility in the open areas. Strong, gusty winds will produce blowing and drifting snow for several more hours this evening.
Tonight will continue to bring winds gusting in excess of 35 to 40 miles per hour. This is creating some poor visibility, especially in the open areas with extensive blowing and drifting snow. At times near whiteouts will be possible. In addition, occasional lake effect snow will continue off Lake Ontario with new snowfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches possible. The temperature will fall into the middle to upper teens and wind chills will be running near zero.
