Yellow Alert: heat and possible storms Sunday
Another mild and muggy start to our day today, and the mild and muggy conditions will help fuel strong storms later today.
With the threat of scattered strong storms across our region this afternoon and tonight, the First Alert Weather Team will continue the Yellow Alert for today. isolated showers and storms will begin to push in during the middle of the day. Isolated showers and storms will continue through the afternoon hours before a greater chance for storms arrives this evening and tonight. Storm chances will continue into midnight tonight before slowly diminishing from west to east late tonight.
Storms today will have the capability of strong gusty winds, small hail, and individualized cells will have the best chance of rotating today. Not only will strong storms be something to monitor this afternoon, but so will the heat. The National weather Service will allow a heat advisory to go into affect for a majority of our region because temperatures will reach near 90 but feel like the upper 90s at times today.
