ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — Like beer and wine? How about animals? If you answered yes to both, the Seneca Park Zoo is back to offering you the two together under one night.

This week’s ZooBrew event is sold out, and the zoo isn’t accepting walk-ups, but there’s always the next one on Sept. 10.

The last ZooBrew held was in 2019 because of the pandemic.

Friday night, the line stretched all the way down the sidewalk.

"It’s a symbol that we’re coming back and even with the COVID numbers rising we’re able to do this outdoors on this beautiful day, and it’s an opportunity for people to feel like something is in their control and they can make a difference," said Seneca Park Zoo Society President & CEO Pamela Reed Sanchez.

The 21-and-over happy hour features live music, animal experiences, as well as beer and wine bars. Each event begins at 5:30 p.m. and the gates close at 7:30. You can explore the full zoo until 9 p.m.

Tickets are $8 in advance or $10 at the gate. Guests must be 21. To purchase tickets, visit senecaparkzoo.org/zoobrew

A portion of each ticket sold will go toward keeping the zoo running, as well as elephant conservation to help create a sustainable future for elephants worldwide.
