Back to School: Vertus High School trying new ways to engage with students

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC)— It’s nearly crunch time for local schools, as there’s just a little more than a month to go until the first day of class for kids across the region.

News10NBC is bringing you In-Depth back-to-school coverage, and Thursday we took a look at Vertus High School, where classes run all year long. The high school, located on Humboldt Street, is a non-profit public school with the mission of helping young men defy the odds.

Reporter Lynette Adams spent the morning sitting in on one of the school’s morning meetings, she also spoke with the school’s Director of Admissions and Public Relations Joseph Carter.
