Hochul announces 5 confirmed cases of omicron variant in NYS
ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — Gov. Kathy Hochul Thursday announced there are five confirmed cases of the omicron variant in New York State.
She did not specify where.
She tweeted, "Let me be clear: This is not cause for alarm. We knew this variant was coming and we have the tools to stop the spread. Get your vaccine. Get your booster. Wear your mask."

This comes just a few hours after news broke that a Minnesota man who attended an anime convention in New York City was found to have the omicron variant.
