Monroe County public defender Julie Cianca appointed to full term
MONROE COUNTY, N.Y. — Monroe County’s public defender has been appointed to a full term.
The county Legislature voted overwhelmingly to give Julie Cianca a new term.
She was initially given the job in 2023 after a contentious fight among lawmakers that was only settled after litigation. This time around, the vote was 22 to 5.
Her term runs until the end of 2025.
