Murder suspect located in Nevada

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — Rochester police report that they have identified the person who allegedly shot and killed a man on State Street last month.

An investigation by the Major Crimes Unit revealed that Saquan Felton, 29, shot and killed Jameik Foster Sr., 27, on Aug. 21. at 547 State Street.

Investigators further learned Felton fled to the State of Nevada shortly after the murder.

On Sept. 15, members of the Major Crimes Unit traveled to Nevada in an attempt to locate and arrest
Felton. With the assistance of local police and the United States Marshal, he was located and taken into
custody.

Felton currently remains in Nevada awaiting extradition proceedings to return to Rochester, at
which time he will be arraigned on the charges of murder in the second degree, criminal possession of a
weapon in the second degree, and criminal possession of a weapon in the third degree. Additional charges may be presented to a Monroe County Grand Jury.

At the time of the murder of Jameik Foster, Felton was out of custody pending sentencing after being
convicted of criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree on June 6, 2022.

In addition to the pending CPW sentencing, Felton was also out of custody after an arrest for domestic
assault in the second degree after stabbing the mother of his child in the upper torso on March 26, 2022.
