UPDATE: Rochester Police say Kevin Travis, 41, is the man who was found shot to death inside his apartment on Lyell Avenue.

ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Rochester Police found a man in his 40s shot to death in the second-floor hallway of an apartment complex on Lyell Avenue near Myrtle Street on Wednesday morning.
Officers also found a man in his 40s with a gunshot wound to the torso outside on Lyell Avenue. He was taken to Strong Hospital, underwent surgery, and is listed in stable condition.
RPD responded around 3:30 a.m. after getting reports of a shooting. They first found the injured man, then received information that led them to find the man who was murdered.
The murder victim lived in the apartment complex with at least a dozen units. RPD Captain Frank Umbrino said officers are still investigating and believe that an argument inside the building led up to the shooting.
“We believe that both victims were shot inside the building, but again we’re still trying to sort through that,” Umbrino said. “We have not been able to talk to the second victim as of yet. But based on what we see here it looks like both people were shot here at 470 Lyell Avenue.”
RPD says no suspects are in custody and they’re asking anyone with information to call 911. You can see Umbrino’s full conference here:
