School supply giveaway and family resource fair

ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Rochester Regional Health is hosting a free event on Friday where families can connect with community resources—and get supplies for the upcoming school year.

Each student will receive a free backpack filled with school supplies, and children of all ages will be able to fill a bag with gently used clothing to take home.

The event is from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and is being held at the St. Mary’s Campus parking lot, 89 Genesee St, Rochester, NY 14611.

Participating community partners

• Rochester Fire Department – see a fire truck
up close, and talk to firefighters about carbon
monoxide and smoke detectors for your home.

• Unity Dental Group – talk to our professionals,
and receive a free toothcare bag (one per child).

• Mobile Mammography Unit – learn about our
mammography services, and schedule an
appointment for its next stop at St. Mary’s.

• Outpatient social workers – learn more about
social work services offered to families.

• Do The Right Thing Program – submit a
nomination to recognize an outstanding
young person.

• Rochester Public Library – sign up for a library
card, and learn about upcoming events.
