Man hit and killed by train on Westside Drive

GATES, N.Y. — A man was hit and killed by a train on Tuesday on Westside Drive between Gates and Chili town lines.

Monroe County sheriff’s deputies arrived around 9:45 a.m. and found the man’s body under the train. Deputies say the crash didn’t happen at a road crossing.

Westside Drive between Chili Center, Coldwater, and Golden roads are shut down during the investigation. News10NBC’s crew at the scene saw the train at a standstill.
